This week we are camping in Lake George, NY.  We’ve been hanging around the campground filming and joining in on events.  I know that it doesn’t sound like much but this campground is crazy!  The schedule goes from morning till night.  Don’t believe me…check out the video:

Fiesta Time!  If you couldn’t tell, it is Fiesta Week at Lake George Escape.  Being from Texas and loving our trips to Mexico, it’s the perfect theme week for us!

July 11-14 2012 Heading out of Maine

As we head out of the Bar Harbor area and towards New Hampshire we come to a sign that says, “Fort Knox”. We looked at each other very confused and say, “I didn’t think Fort Knox was in Maine?” So, we turned in and decided we should go check it out. After all, what’s a road trip good for if you don’t discover something new along the way! First thing we notice is how open it is…not exactly locked down like Fort Knox. Come to find out, this is the first Fort Knox but not the one with all of the gold….dang; we could have tried out our Bonnie and Clyde skills! The Fort Knox with the gold is in Kentucky. This Fort Knox is on the Penobscot River in Prospect, Maine and is known for its architectural features and its history with cannon batteries.

The past few days have been a great mixture of work and play. We have been filming at the Bar Harbor campgrounds and really enjoying the beauty of the area.  Here is the video piece we put together for the Bar Harbor camping resorts.  If you watch the video in HD it looks sooo much better!

So, what did you think of the video?  As you can see it was a lot of hard work and we didn’t enjoy a bit of it (yeah right!).

July 1, 2012 – Campfire and conversation

This morning we got up early to capture some footage and shots of our campground from the water.  Jason loves to shoot by kayak these days.  I can’t say I blame him.  He gets to sit and look for pretty shots while I paddle him around.  All the fun of kayaking without any of the work!  Not that I am bitter, jealous is a better word.  We had to be out of the water by 9:30am.  With the dramatic tides here in Maine, if you don’t make it back to shore before low tide you will be slopping back in the mud.

June 26, 2012 – Cross the Border, steal some fuel and get shot.

We have a last minute request that has us rushing out of Montreal Canada and into Bar Harbor Maine.  I know, everyone’s upset we didn’t make it to Quebec City, but this is a very important meeting that could help pay our bills on the road.  So we pack camp and we’re off on this monstrous 9 hour drive!

Exploring Quebec

June 23, 2012 – A Day of Exploring…

Today was an explore Quebec day. We hopped in the car and just started driving. We started off in the cute little town where we took the ferry over towards Oka. We explored all of the little towns within about an hour of our campground in all directions. We found old churches, a Montessori, funny faced alpacas and an amazing beekeeper!
