This was one of the biggest and most well maintained state parks we have ever stayed at. The park is 6,150 acres of land on the Gulf Coast of Alabama! The sites are nice, spacious and the park has more amenities and events than you can partake in.The sites look nice now but apparently it was hit by a hurricane and then a fire! So there are not as many trees as there once was but had someone not told us, we would have never known. The beaches were one of the biggest draws for us. There are 2 miles of beautiful beach without the string of hotels, condos, mediocre restaurants and everything else that goes along with commercial beaches.
Most people pass right by Foley, Alabama on their way to the beach and never realize the awesomeness of this small town. You can spend a few hours or a whole day exploring Foley. Either way, it’s definitely worth a stop, even if it’s just to stretch your legs. Here are a few of our Foley favorites.
