Williamsburg to Annapolis

We left the state of Virginia today and headed into Maryland.  We didn’t get to explore as much of Virginia as we would have liked, but we did get to see lots of History in the Williamsburg and Yorktown area.

We were surrounded by stories of the past and couldn’t help but think of the early explorers who first came to this area.  Now those were true explorers!  No modern amenities, no idea of who or what they would encounter and no idea if they would make it back alive to tell the stories.  We like to think of ourselves as modern day explorers but when compared to the 18th century and earlier explorers; we are merely travelers, if that!

Being the “warp speed” travelers that we are, it is time to move along.  Our final destination tonight is near Hershey, PA.  We decided to spend the afternoon in Annapolis, MD.  Now we are sad we didn’t plan on spending more time in the area!  It’s such a cute town!  We made the best of the short time we did have and took some friends up on their recommendations.

We stopped for veggie dogs at Pip’s Dock Side Dogs…they were awesome!  We took em’ to go and walked….and walked…and walked!  I loved watching the sail boats coming and going and the downtown area is full of cute shops, eateries and interesting buildings.

The Annapolis Ice Cream Company had YUMMY ice cream and enough decorated plastic spoons to open a museum!  We passed so many ice cream shops and it was tempting to give in to any one of them but after a visit here, I was glad I held out!

Onto another day and another adventure!

Famous for my "how-not-to" videos, and typically the man behind the camera, sometimes I’m forced to be here in the “spotlight”. When you see my face you’re probably reading something more technical than adventurous, but either way I do my best to tell it like it is and infuse my opinions into the commentary…after all this is a blog and not MSN.

I have been watching where you are on the east coast. Originally I was born in upstate New York, but as a kid came to the West Coast by way of camping for 3 months. So I am so interested in your travels both east and west. Are you considering seeing the Adirondack Mountains in New York? Beautiful place. Happy travels….Pam
