We are burning, at Burning Man and picking up Hitch Hikers!

We have sealed, painted, decorated, and everything else you can do in preparation for Burning Man. The prep time is over and the burn has begun! Which means that we are out in the middle of the desert where we can’t communicate with anyone who is not in Black Rock City. So, if you need us, your just going to have to wait! As always, there will be awesome photos and videos to come. Stay tuned!

The super duper photo is of 2 cool guys we picked up on our way to burning man. Already sounds like a good story right! We were pulled over off of Highway 80 decorating our bicycles for burning man when we looked up to see 2 guys walking along the highway. These 2 guys are wearing bathing suits, carrying inflated american flag inter-tubes and that’s it! How do you see that and not ask questions? Being from Texas, Jason just shouts out “you lookin for water”? Come to find out, they were floating a nearby river and started out a bit late and did not make it as far as they thought they would. They had intentions of floating to Reno, where they left their car and didn’t quite make it. As it gets later in the day in the desert, it gets a bit cold. They had to forgo the river the and start walking their way back. They were about 8 miles from Reno when met them. We offered them a ride back to their car and made great friends in the process. Just goes to show, sometimes the strange looking fellows hitchhiking can be even more interesting than they look. Best news is, they are going to meet up with us after burning man and have agreed to buying us 1 1/2 beers! Awesome!

Famous for my "how-not-to" videos, and typically the man behind the camera, sometimes I’m forced to be here in the “spotlight”. When you see my face you’re probably reading something more technical than adventurous, but either way I do my best to tell it like it is and infuse my opinions into the commentary…after all this is a blog and not MSN.
