It’s amazing how often I need this little device. Whether it’s checking to see how many amps are passing through the solar panels, or confirming our shore power pedistool ratings. It’s also nice when calling in for tech support, I can’t believe how many times I’m asked “how many amps is it pulling?”
If you have the budget the Fluke (http://amzn.to/2EsGRAG) is top notch but I went for this affordable Klein Tools amp clamp. It has most of the features at a fraction of the price.  Most importantly, it reads AC & DC.

A few specs:

• Automatically ranging true mean squared (TRMS) technology for increased accuracy
• Test leads measure AC/DC voltage, resistance, continuity, frequency and capacitance and tests diodes
• Thermocouple probe measures temperature
