Grill & Griddle

$100.00

I love this thing.  I love all the gadgets in my tiny kitchen but this device I use almost every day (going on 10 years now). I fry eggs on it and make toast in the mornings.  I grill up fish, make panini’s, french fries, tortillas and well, anything that needs grilling or griddling.

I don’t have a lot of pots and pans and I don’t need them with this grill.  It serves so many purposes and fills so many of my searing/grilling/cooking needs.

Like many of my kitchen faves, it fits the following criteria.

  • Heat’s up fast.
  • Provides even cooking and steady temps.
  • Clean up is easy.
  • Doesn’t break the bank.

We don’t use propane for cooking. Thanks to our Solar & Lithium set up, we have plenty of renewable electricity.  So, we use electric gadgets for cooking.  Because it heats up quick and holds temperatures, its very efficient cooking.

There are two models of this grill and I recommend either one as I have owned both.

Cuisinart Griddler Deluxe:  https://amzn.to/2BFv7wO

What makes this griddler different (or deluxe) is…

  • Dual-zone temperature control (each plate can be at different temps)
  • Sear function – can sear at 500 degrees F for up to two minutes at a time
  • larger grilling surface – 240 square inches open
  • 1800 watts

Cuisinart Griddler – https://amzn.to/2wmBBep

  • Slightly smaller for even tinier kitchens – 200 square inches open
  • Floating cover to adjust to thickness of food
  • 1500 watts

    Hi Nikki
I was thinking about buying one of these, mainly for doing eggs, bread and rice, amongst others. I’ve watched you cooking and it seems easy enough to use, but was wanting to know, do you think you could cook a little mince on it?? Would definitely try out some of your recipes too. I live in the UK and await eagerly every Sunday for your vlogs

Dear Nikki, I once saw an episode where you made cookies (similar as your Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies that you freeze and only use when needed) however, you baked these cookies in your griddle. Do you mind sharing that recipe with me again. Can’t seem to find it on your web or google.

Sorry…Hate to be negative, but also don’t care to see good people get taken by purchasing “upgraded” products by companies counting on the former good name they are ruining now with price point manufacturing to increase the bottom line followed up with very poor customer service… This isn’t a review but more of a warning…read the reviews and make an informed decision before clicking the ‘Buy Now’ thing.

We liked Cuisinart, even recently bought a nice gas grill Cuisinart makes. Good stuff…or so we thought. I was going to get one of these griddles and also a Cuisinart slow cooker for my wife and for some reason decided to first read the reviews on Amazon. It seems that there are LOTS of reviews complaining of the non stick coating coming off with very little use, (that many say is not really non stick). Also several complaints of them having serious electrical problems.
I normally take a few negative reviews with a grain of salt, but these problems are far too prevalent not to take seriously and can’t attribute them to users or the occasional QA/QC problem. Also many complaints about very poor customer service by Cuisinart when product is out of the 30 day Amazon return window. How about paying a charge for them to accept a warranty return, pay another fee to have them ship a replacement, and the customer pays shipping, by the way… LOTS of customers said this was their last Cuisinart purchase. Read the reviews.

We haven’t had any issues at all with ours and it’s been going strong for almost 3 years now…in a marine environment.

No review, just a question. On one episode you were baking a blueberry coffee cake in it, or at least it appeared that way. However none of the descriptions lists baking as a function. Please educate me 🙂

Hey Floyd. It’s actually a different device but they look almost identical. The countertop oven was also made by Cuisinart but has been discontinued. You can sometimes find them at close-out sites and stores, and one commenter recently posted that Home Depot is offering them for sale. Maybe Cuisinart is producing them again! https://www.gonewiththewynns.com/product/cuisinart-countertop-oven
