Yogurt Making – Tasty & Good For Your Gut

$32.00

We love yogurt and all the different varieties.  Greek, soy, oat, almond and my personal fave…COCONUT!  Homemade coconut milk yogurt is like dessert (better than ice cream, and that is a statement around here).

Homemade yogurt is so incredibly easy to and the benefits of yummy pro-biotic-infused yogurt are undeniable.  It’s incredibly good for your gut, your wallet and the biggest kicker for us travelers…. availability.  Some remote islands don’t have fresh produce, much less yogurt.

A loaf of fresh baked bread will impress your local friends, a fresh bowl of yogurt will get you an invite to straight to their hearts…(through their stomachs of course).

You don’t have to have a yogurt maker, but it does make the process easier.  We decided on this machine because it’s affordable, includes two BPA-free 1 ½ quart containers for fermenting and a strainer for making Greek yogurt.  I know what you are thinking…but it’s electric?!  Yes, but it uses very little power.

The biggest benefit of this yogurt maker is the adjustable digital timer.  Time and temperature are very important in yogurt making, so you can adjust it in 30-minutes increments based on the recipe you’re using, and it has an auto-shutoff when the time is up.  Easy peasy and cleanup is a snap.

The instruction manual and recipe guide are legit and will get you started.  I will share my personal tips, tricks and recipes soon.

This is for Nikki. I’ve been making excellent yogurt using the cold start method (super easy) in either my thrift shop yogurt maker with the cute little jars or in my Instant Pot. I just use a lactose free milk from the grocery store. I would love to try a coconut milk yogurt but I’ve read that it won’t work using any milk with additives like thickeners and I haven’t seen any coconut milk like that. Have you made your own? If so, what milk did you use? Thanks! Love watching your dream life play out…
