Turtle Rock Campground…close to Lake Tahoe, CA

We stumbled upon Turtle Rock County Park Campground in California by accident, looking for a different spot to call home for the week.  Once we had seen this campground, surrounded by trees, with it’s large hidden RV sites, we never made it to our original destination.

Turtle Rock is a great example of our favorite type of campground, beautiful surroundings and lots of fun stuff to do!  With a tennis court, basketball court, disc golf course, and a horseshoe pit all at your fingertips, the only thing missing, is the noise!  The sites are nice and spacious and at night the stars can be seen for miles.

Turtle Rock Park Campground is located near Markleeville, CA.  It is 29 miles south of South Lake Tahoe, CA and 32 miles west of Carson City, NV.  There are no hook-ups, but there is flush toilets, a shower and water at various sites.

Famous for my "how-not-to" videos, and typically the man behind the camera, sometimes I’m forced to be here in the “spotlight”. When you see my face you’re probably reading something more technical than adventurous, but either way I do my best to tell it like it is and infuse my opinions into the commentary…after all this is a blog and not MSN.
