A Cautionary Tale

With each new destination and experience comes an emotion.  When we visited the Redwood Forest we felt as if we were in a magical world where ferries and gnomes lived.  At Burning Man it was if we entered a parallel universe.  In Alabama at he Foley Railroad Museum we were suddenly transported back to our 8 year old selves.  The model train exhibit brought on a lot of childlike imagination and we decided to let our inner child take over.  This what came out of it…

What did you think?  Don’t worry, Nikki isn’t a real man eating woman….only in her imagination!

The ¼ mile of track and 1950’s setting model train exhibit is run solely by a group of volunteers.  It is an impressive work of art that is free to enjoy weekdays 10am – 4pm.  Stop in and stay a while, your inner child is begging you!

Famous for my "how-not-to" videos, and typically the man behind the camera, sometimes I’m forced to be here in the “spotlight”. When you see my face you’re probably reading something more technical than adventurous, but either way I do my best to tell it like it is and infuse my opinions into the commentary…after all this is a blog and not MSN.

  • I’ve been following your blogs for only a few months now, but I have enjoyed every single one of them. And, it seems every time I turn around, I find another gem of a story. This would be one of them!

For two such young souls, the quality of your technical work is first-class. The icing on the cake is your warmth and playfulness — and possessing the chutzpah to make your dreams become reality. Most don’t realize they’ve missed out until it may be too late.

Go forth and conquer — and keep these wonderful stories and bits of advice coming!
