The Joy Of Monsoon Season (Sailing Thailand)
This probably seems painfully obvious but chartering a sailboat doesn’t guarantee anyone any actual sailing or fair weather. And coaxing mother nature to blow our way has never been our forte. But determination on the other hand is something we have in spades, and we were determined to sail this boat!
So we find ourselves in a delicate dance with the elusive winds of monsoon season as we make our way to the renowned Phi Phi islands. Home to some of the best diving in the country, nature’s most ferocious winged tormentors (mosquitoes), long tailed monkeys and stunning ocean meets jungle views.
We’re back in our cruisers paradise of sail, eat, dive, explore, eat, sleep and repeat. It’s all sunshine and curry date nights until the skies crack open and the rain cascades down like a waterfall. Our boat springs a leak and so does does Jason’s exuberance. Apparently, a monsoon is his sirens song.

My wife and I have enjoyed nearly every sailing video you two have created and are looking to move onto a sailboat ourselves. I have noticed that some of your most popular videos have included a storyline about an island, so I want to invite you to our island. We don’t know if you will be back in Florida before your new sailboat is completed but if you are and would like to spend a few days in Central Florida, we would to have you as our guests.
Here is a link to a video about ourselves and our island. It has truly been a 10 year adventure and we are looking forward to our next big adventure which we hope will be on a sailboat.

Love your new HH!

You stopped updating the map on here, why?

We had to many issues with the map plug in. We now have to find a new map and start over with all the stops (daunting). We haven’t found any perfect solutions so that’s why we don’t have a new or updated map.

HI mozzie bites: pour very hot water into a teacup, place a teaspoon into the hot water, tap mozzie bite with back of spoon about five or six times then repeat the process again. This stops all irritation for 4-5 hours and aids reducing inflammation. I have used this method for over 50 years and guarantee that works every time. i felt for poor legs covered in bites, please try this simple ready and tap bite quickly at first then more slowly as spoon cools, careful not to burn the skin. With practice you will find this method far superior to medications.
I Hope the new cat is everything you wish for. if you get to Melbourne I would love to see the new cat. Try the tap, it really does work.
Cheers

Loved this episode! The underwater filming, the cooking, the sailing and scenery, everything!!! Can’t wait till you’re living on your new boat and the adventures you’re going to share. Love you guys 🥰

I loved this video. You guys both had huge smiles on throughout. “You both were having fun.”
That resort was sooo cool. The food looked great. That rainstorm was sooo cool. I love rain and thunderstorms.
I was also happy that you both got what you really wanted which is being back on the water. You got to live on this boat for a week. You got to dive and snorkel. You got to sail a good stretch. I guess I also had a case of vicariously living back on your boat too. Thailand is amazing. Never been except with you. 👍

Those mosquitos look like the ones I have had wars with n Alaska! I did have to pull out the off and spray screens so they would stay out. It is the only thing that worked. I didn’t use it on my body, I am not as sweet as you guys.
I was so excited to have a long video to have with my sundowner. Wifi is sketchy here so I found a place to hang this evening and catch up.
Love seeing you on the water. Love your new haircut Nikki!
Miss you both.

A squall in paradise is always better than a smoky day inland. It is clear here, thankfully (Pacific Northwest). We’ve been lucky so far this year with smoke. I can imagine how comforting it is to be back in your life to a degree. I’ve never sailed but even I was happy to be vicariously living back on “your” boat 🤣
.. so what if your viewers want more time on the boat, will they let you go another week? – Kidding. I know that’s not a thing, but it should be.
I’m in the midst of enforced RV life at the moment and am currently inundated with ants. Leaks, insects, weather; alternative living sure puts you in closer quarters with the hurdles mother nature flings your way. .. but it is worth it.
Thanks for the escape, even if it was only one week!
Michael
I can’t even imagine how a boat can have a leak like that. Good heavens!
It appears to be all about the quality of the build. One sure must choose wisely. It sure isn’t like buying a new car.
Thanks, as always.
