We Bought an Auction Boat…But Does It Even Work?

After the chaos of the Baja 1000, we're back in the Netherlands facing a very different kind of challenge: finding out if our auction boat actually works.

The truth is, we don’t really know yet. The boat only has 48 hours on the engine, just enough for commissioning and delivery. And since its delivery in 2023, it has been sitting. For two years. 😬

Until now, we've had no idea if we actually bought a functioning boat, or just a really expensive project.

So this week, we roll up our sleeves and start digging into the fuel, water, and engine systems to find out what actually works, and what doesn’t.

It’s messy, a little nerve-wracking, and very much a “waiting for the other shoe to drop” kind of week.

Our journey is ever-evolving but the mission remains the same: CULTIVATE CURIOSITY

Life on wheels or keels is an ongoing education. We're forever students sharing what we learn along the way. We've done a little of everything from engine maintenance to how to sail, anchor, rebuild a water pump or even rip out and reinstall windows.
