This Village Has No Roads - Only Canals and Boats

What if I told you there's a village where cars are completely banned, roads were never built and everyone travels by boat?

Welcome to Giethoorn, Netherlands - a place so unique it feels like stepping into a fairy tale. This isn't some tourist attraction built for show... it's a real village where 2,800 people actually live, connected by 180 bridges and a network of canals that were accidentally created centuries ago.

Behind the scenes, we've been planning and preparing for an epic trip to Uganda with some longtime friends from Texas. When we realized we'd have a layover in Amsterdam, we thought - why not finally check out this little fairytale village we'd heard so much about?

We spent two incredible days exploring this car-free paradise. And I don't know if it was the water or the perfectly manicured landscapes, but I have never had a more beautiful or relaxing layover.

Next stop, UGANDA!
