Using the climate control in an RV is simple, but there are a few things that make it different than using a home system. Understanding when to run the propane furnace vs. the heat pump, how to most efficiently run both A/C units and locating the remote temperature sensors will make the RV life a little more comfortable. In our first year of RV travel we must have blown through hundreds of dollars worth of propane because we didn’t understand how the heating systems worked.  On the flip side during summer trips we ran the A/C almost non-stop because we couldn't get the RV to cool down and stay cool.  Now we’re on our third class A RV and we like to think we’ve got it down fairly well, so I’m sharing a few of the tips and tricks we’ve learned over the years about Heating and Cooling an RV.

Jason’s family is very outgoing and active (crazy fun), which is why I love them so much.  The only thing is you never really know what you’re getting yourself into with this bunch.

So when Lauren (Jason’s sister who lives in Austin, Texas) invited us to join in on their Thursday Night Social Ride I should have known this wasn't going to be a leisurely bike ride around town.

Plus, this is Austin; where nothing is average or normal.

Thursday Night Social Ride

Have you ever walked in somewhere and thought to yourself, “I don’t know how this place got started and I definitely don’t know how it’s still going”? Well, that’s exactly what I thought when we walked into the Space Murals Museum just outside Las Cruces, New Mexico. space murals museum new mexico Driving down highway 70 you can spot the giant painted steel tank from a good distance away, however if we had not already had this roadside attraction on our radar, we wouldn't have known it was open for business. We were greeted by a nice woman reading a book and smoking a cigarette. She casually let us know we were free to roam and take as many photos as we like. There was no fee, just a donation box and a dusty gift shop. We of course headed straight for the outdoor rocket garden (where the murals are).

We like Santa Fe, New Mexico but we've been told multiple times that its only a summer destination...we politely disagree.

Santa Fe (Spanish for Holy Faith) is the oldest capitol city in the United States and known for its rich history, artistic culture, and of course being the most visited city in New Mexico. santa fe new mexico Summer may seem like the most enticing time to be in here, especially if you've seen Georgia O’Keeffe paintings, rightfully so as everything is greener, but the town is much busier.  We say if you’re in the vicinity, it’s worth a stop any time of the year.  Here are five Santa Fe stops we found that are great no matter what the season!
