nikki and jason wynn with major delays at the boat yard

THIS WAS NOT THE PLAN

Well, we hit a few setbacks this week. Boat life on the hard is hard!

I would love to say we’ve taken it all in stride but that would be a lie.  Lockdowns, delays, and a very disappointing bit of fraud have left us tittering on the edge of breaking down some days.

The weeks have turned into months and now we’re in for a few more.  BUT we’re injured not defeated.  Progress is still being made and my determination has a tensile strength that’s off the charts.  So unless New Zealand runs out of chocolate in the next couple of weeks, we’re gonna splash this boat!

🙏 THANK YOU!

Thanks for joining us, it wouldn’t be the same without you. 🤗

Ups, downs, and all arounds, we share it all. We’re able to do so because people like you show up each week, read, watch, comment, share, shop our gear, and toss a tip in our production jar. If you like what you see, there are lots of ways you can show your support.

Hello there! I honestly don’t know what to say, so I am going to tell you a bunch of random facts instead. I'm a fish eating vegetarian who hates spiders and loves snakes. I almost never took vacations growing up. I wanted to be Pippi Longstocking (still do). I misspell about every other word I write and still struggle with grammar. I love splurging on a good high tea (which is really hard to find these days). And whatever you do, don’t tell me I can’t do something, because then I'll HAVE to do it!

One day (sometimes one hour) at a time. Keep up the good work! It will all be worth it the day you get to splash back into the sea. Just keep a lot of Guava Beer on hand.

Is it possible the new windows are intentionally sprung? Do they need to be installed with strong pressure to “grab” the curvature of the opening? They appear to have a complex curve. With pressure the curve is reduced and the outside dimensions would increase.
Of course the manufacturer would know if this is the case.

Soldier on guys, and know that you’re not alone!! We all go through trying times…empathize totally, and you know what they say…what doesn’t break us only makes us stronger!

You guys are amazing. I admire you both. In the face of adversity you will triumph. In a few months this will all be a bad dream that passed, and good dreams only possible.

Sorry that you guy are having so many difficulties, but know that things will eventually improve!! Just hang in there and keep some whisky and /or wine handy for those disappointing days. We all have them, but it’s what you make of them that counts and you both keep presenting your positive and optimistic attitudes! That is part of what makes you two so special!! Keep it up.. 🙂

“Yay boats!” You guys are the best! You laugh and you make us laugh when by all rights you should be crying. And yes I know there were tears and probably lots of cursing behind the scenes as well. I love you both so much! Look forward to your videos every week. It’s a real highlight of my dull little life. I’m sorry for all your frustrations and expenses, but just stay focused on all the adventures that lay ahead. Love and good energy surround you always!

I think you two are just great! I commend your tireless efforts; your humor; (Your editing!); your results. It’s an incredibly informative, and only slightly painful for us, process to watch. Keep after it – any chance there’s a spa day in your future? Or a masseuse to come to the boat. Thank you for all of this. Wonderful to be ‘part of your lives’.

Regarding your unplanned window problem, I have to say that both of you are remarkable. I have been a boater for more than 55 years and have encountered similar frustrations several times. As you said: “That’s boating.” But I think the way you recover and come back with such bright spirits is absolutely amazing. Don’t let this deter you from continuing with your wonderful adventure. I look forward to seeing your successful resolution of your window problem. BTW: on the starter, have you considered getting your old original starter rebuilt? (I’m probably the 500th person to suggest this.)
    All the best to you.

I haven’t watched the video yet, but can fully appreciate your new YT correct saying, “unless New Zealand runs out of chocolate…”! Hang in there, and as always, you have a lot of friends along for the ride!

Why not put a large Tarp up and strap it down to cover the deck area where the windows are located? Like a sun shade over the booom.

Oh no!!! That must be so hard on you both. Just know that as well as sending BIG HUGS, your strength and fortitude has inspired so many of us to push on and not be defeated in life 🥰🥰🥰xx

THAT LOOK!!! 🧐😫🤪😭😆 “Emotions have been turned around…so at least we’re happier! (as Jason shrugs) Cue the look…of question, denial, horror, nausea, shock, pain, horror & hilarity!! (as Nikki twists and giggles in conflict). Nikki, you say so much without even a word! 😂

I feel your pain and want to send a little kindness your way! So here’s to happier days, sunnier skies and hopefully only a few more awkwardly hilarious beer-filled recaps! LOL! Cheers to your perseverance and positive attitudes! 🍻
