Life at Sea on a Hybrid Electric Sailboat

When our friends let us borrow their brand new hybrid electric catamaran, we didn't just take it for a spin - we disappeared for a couple of weeks into pure Bahamian bliss.  And this week we slipped deep into cruiser mode, embracing the rhythm of the sea, the wind, and a pace of life that moves with the tides.

From getting shrimp pedicures in hidden caves to rum tastings at sunset and freediving with turtles! This is the kind of adventure, slow living, connection and quiet joys that only the sea can offer.  It feels as though every moment aboard Second Star is a reminder of why lifestyle is so magical.  It's been a much needed seafarers retreat.  Plus, throw in some ninja-like-stealth-silent motoring and moonlight sailing and it's about as close to perfection as a life at sea gets.

So sit back, kick your feet up, grab a cold beverage and take a little virtual escape with us in the Exuma's.

We’re utterly addicted to new experiences and obsessed with searching out Indiana Jones style adventures.

The Bahamas was our first ocean passage and big destination when we started sailing. The clear shallow waters dotted with hundreds of sandy islands and friendly people hooked us for life. This is arguably the best cruising in the world!

There are plenty of opinions about how one should go about life, travel, adventure, and everything in between. Variety, it’s the spice of life, right? As for us, we like to travel with the comforts of home.
