But the reality is, the place is only a small part of it. What really makes a place memorable is who we get to share it with. So having Jason's mom Mary here in England makes everything feel extra special. Especially because it's been a year and a half since we spent time together.
We wander through the ruins of an ancient castle, watch a solar eclipse, share a few meals, and deal with the occasional surprise boat life throws at us. But mostly, we just get to spend time together.
Because the hardest part of this life isn't the weather, the logistics, or the constant maintenance.
It's being far away from the people we love.
