We Had To Call An Ambulance From Our Boat

Just when we were getting into a really good rhythm aboard UNDRA, life decided to throw us a curveball.

We'd been enjoying some beautiful weather, discovering English Sparkling wine, and making the most of our time exploring the UK. Boat life in general was feeling pretty darn good.

And then I got sick.  24 hours later I got call emergency services sick.

After a decade of living and traveling on boats, we're no strangers to the importance of being prepared. We carry medical supplies for a vide variety of scenarios and we do our best to be self-reliant, especially when we're headed somewhere remote.

But there's a big difference between preparing for something and actually experiencing it.

Luckily this time we were relatively close to civilization…but even so, getting medical help isn't quite as straightforward when your home floats and your address is a GPS coordinate on water.

So this week's video is a whole different kind of journey.  But it's one of those experiences that comes with choosing this lifestyle.

The good news is we're both doing much better now. ❤️ And we have quite the story to share.

Life on wheels or keels is an ongoing education. We're forever students sharing what we learn along the way. We've done a little of everything from engine maintenance to how to sail, anchor, rebuild a water pump or even rip out and reinstall windows.

Exploring the world like its 1492.

How much does it cost to travel around the world? Well, that all depends. Here's what we've experienced so far.
