This is one of my favorite types of experiences to share.
Where one of you, who already knows how much we love digging into a place, extends an invitation that is simply too good to pass up.
Not just, "You should visit this place."
More like, "You need to do this."
That is exactly what happened here on the Isle of Purbeck.
One of our Curiosity Crew members, Merv, lives here. He had a mooring ball near his house, invited us to tie up UNDRA, and opened a door into a world we knew almost nothing about.
That's how we ended up with The Bee Man, Robert Field. He manages around 900 hives, which at peak season means roughly 67 million bees under his care.
And after decades of doing this, there are still things the bees do that he can't explain.
This week's story follows one curious invitation into a side of The Isle of Purbeck we never would have experienced on our own. Where an ordinary jar of honey turned out to be a whole lot less ordinary than we thought.
