Temecula: Sippin, Swingin and Wilderness Lakes
I have to admit that we’ve been to this area before, even stayed at the same campground but wow, we totally missed Temecula and what a mistake! We missed out on some serious sippin’ and swingin’!
Two years ago we found ourselves at the Wilderness Lakes RV Resort and Campground in Menifee, CA and made the mistake of just exploring about a 5 mile radius. In our defense, we were only staying for two days, still new to full time travel and entirely too anxious to get to the next BIG destination.

Have you ever heard of Jamul, California? We never had and sometimes ignorance is the best way to start off a trip. If we don’t know where we’re going there's zero preconceived notions or expectations.
This is exactly how our trip through San Diego County started. All we knew is that we're staying at Thousand Trails Pio Pico campground in Jamul, a town that's no more than a tiny dot on the map.
Turns out it’s a beautiful countryside retreat for the city dwellers and a quiet base camp for travelers.
