Gulf State Park: Alabama
This was one of the biggest and most well maintained state parks we have ever stayed at. The park is 6,150 acres of land on the Gulf Coast of Alabama! The sites are nice, spacious and the park has more amenities and events than you can partake in.
The sites look nice now but apparently it was hit by a hurricane and then a fire! So there are not as many trees as there once was but had someone not told us, we would have never known. The beaches were one of the biggest draws for us. There are 2 miles of beautiful beach without the string of hotels, condos, mediocre restaurants and everything else that goes along with commercial beaches.
On a side note, we did step out of our door one day to the little snake in the picture below. He isn’t poisonous so we were ok with him and he seemed to be fine with us.
Here are a few of our favorite things to keep you busy while in the area:
Best Royal Reds: Doc’s Seafood
5 Rivers Delta: Gator Bites and Sights
A day trip to Foley: Bed Pans, fizzscians and Tiny Trains

Disclaimer: While the campground did give us a complimentary stay…all of our experiences and opinions are NOT purchased and are still our own.
